How to read these examples

Each example starts from an answer pattern, then moves to evidence, diagnosis, and action. The goal is not to judge one model output in isolation, but to turn patterns into repeatable work.

Example 1: the brand is absent

What the answer looks like

The AI gives a relevant answer, but never mentions the brand even when the prompt should reasonably surface it. Sometimes the answer lists only more established alternatives.

What to inspect next

  • Does the brand have a public definition page?
  • Do the homepage and facts page state the same positioning?
  • Are there enough explicit pages for the query category?

Example 2: the brand is mentioned but not cited

What the pattern means

The model appears to know the brand exists, but it does not rely on the brand's own pages as evidence. That often means the public knowledge layer is too thin, too vague, or too hard to reuse.

Typical follow-up actions

  • Strengthen facts and methodology pages with clearer headings and shorter answer blocks.
  • Add FAQ or glossary content for repeated buyer questions.
  • Reduce positioning drift between the homepage and supporting pages.

Example 3: the answer is directionally right but imprecise

Common signs

  • The product category is described too broadly.
  • The workflow is reduced to a generic marketing tool description.
  • The answer misses important delivery boundaries or trust signals.

Useful diagnosis

This usually points to a positioning problem, not only a citation problem. The team may need a clearer product definition, a stronger boundary page, or more consistent wording across the public layer.
